Pritiscina Beach

We are located on the southern side of the island of Vis, a few kilometers from Komiža. In front of us is Velika Pritišćina, a cove that we reached by a macadam road that descends towards the sea. The road is not difficult, but it is narrow and requires attention in some places. When we reach the end, a clean pebble beach and calm sea open up in front of us. From this point, it is easy to see how protected the cove is. It is surrounded by high rocks that create a natural shelter from the wind and waves. The water is clear, and the bottom is visible almost to the deepest point. There are no facilities or crowds here, which means it is an ideal place for a quiet day and swimming. If we look towards the right side of the cove, behind the rocks is Mala Pritišćina. It cannot be reached by land. There are three ways to get there – by boat, swimming, or partly walking along the rocks and partly swimming. Walking along the coast is possible almost the entire way, but at one point you have to enter the sea. The distance is not great and you can swim to Mala Pritišćina in about fifteen minutes. The best time to stay here is before late afternoon. After 4 pm, the sun sets behind the rocks and the bay enters the shade. At that time, the sea is no longer so warm, so it is more pleasant earlier in the day. From where we are standing, you can also see the famous heart-shaped rock, which is a frequent subject of visitors' photographs. The sea around it is calm, and the colors change from light turquoise to dark blue. Pritišćina Bay is simple, but very special. There are no catering facilities or additional amenities, but this is precisely what gives it a peace that can rarely be found anywhere else. This is a place where you come to enjoy the silence, clear sea and natural surroundings that ask for nothing more than to respect it and leave it as it is.

Porat Beach

We are located in Porat Bay, on the western side of Biševo Island. In front of us is a long sandy beach, known for its light sand and clear sea. The view towards the open sea reveals the open sea, while behind us are protected by rocks and a pine forest that provides natural shade. The sea here is extremely shallow, you can walk more than twenty meters from the shore, which makes this beach ideal for families with children. The sand is fine and the bottom is flat, so entering the sea is easy and safe. The water is clear and calm, without strong waves, which further contributes to the feeling of safety and peace. There are several catering facilities near the beach where you can refresh yourself or eat something simple. You can also rent deck chairs, but most visitors choose the natural shade of the pine trees that descend almost to the very edge of the beach. When we look around, we see that the bay is completely protected. The wind rarely comes here, so the sea is almost always calm. This is why Porat is one of the most pleasant places for swimming on Biševo.

Pizdica Beach

We are located on Pizdica Beach, a pebbled cove located outside the center of Komiža. It can be reached by boat, kayak or on foot along a steep path that descends from the road above the beach. When we descend to the sea, we immediately notice how peaceful and secluded the place is. There are no crowds or noise, just clear sea and the sound of waves hitting the pebbles. What makes this beach more special than the others is the natural spring of drinking water. The water literally springs from the rock, right next to the shore. The Pizdica spring is active all year round, even during periods of great drought, making it a rare sight on the islands. Once upon a time, the first city water supply system on Vis was located here. Today, the system has been moved to Korita, but part of the old plant is still visible - a small stone building by the beach is a reminder of that period. If we get closer to the rock, we can see the point from which the water emerges. It comes from the place where two different layers of rock meet: the water-tight salt diapir of Komiža and the carbonate rocks that make up most of the island. It is this natural combination that provides a constant source of fresh water. The sea at Pizdica is crystal clear and very calm. The bottom is covered with small pebbles, and the water is easy to spot rich underwater life. Due to its isolation, there are rarely many people here, even in the middle of the season. Pizdica Beach is not developed or commercialized, but this is exactly what gives it its special character. It is ideal for those who want peace, nature and a place where you can feel how the island still lives in its original form, with sea, stones and a spring that still flows.

Perna Beach

We are located in the Perna bay, on the western side of the island of Vis. In front of us is a medium-sized pebble beach, surrounded by a dense pine forest that descends almost to the sea. The air is fresh, and the entire area has a pleasant natural shade, making this one of the most suitable places for family outings. Perna can be reached in two ways, by sea and by land. By boat from Komiža, the journey takes about half an hour of leisurely riding, while on foot it takes about forty-five minutes. The path leads through the pine forest and passes along parts of the coast, making the walk easy and pleasant. The sea in Perna is clear and calm. The entry into the water is gentle, and the bottom is covered with fine gravel, which makes it suitable for children. Apart from the occasional boat that anchors here for the day, the bay is quiet and uncrowded most of the time. The beach offers a view to the west, of the open sea and nearby islets, among which Barjak is visible. In the late afternoon hours, one can experience one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island, as the sun slowly disappears behind the horizon, and the entire bay turns into warm shades of orange and gold. Perna has no catering facilities or amenities, so it is advisable to bring water and basic necessities. It is precisely this simplicity that gives it a special charm. This is a place for a quiet day, swimming and relaxing in natural surroundings, away from the noise and crowds.

Barjoška Beach (Mamma Mia Beach)

Barjoška is a small, quiet cove that became world-famous after the 2017 film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was filmed here. Since then, the place has attracted many visitors, from movie lovers to couples looking for a romantic spot for a wedding or photo shoot. The cove is naturally sheltered and surrounded by a dense pine forest that provides plenty of shade, making it pleasant to spend time on the beach even on the hottest days. In the center is a pebble beach with crystal-clear water, and it is possible to moor a boat at a small pier along the coast. Barjoška can be reached by sea or land. The road by land is a gravel road and requires a bit more caution, while arriving by boat is a simpler and more popular choice, especially during the summer months when excursion tours from Komiža and Vis stop here. In addition to the film story, Barjoška enchants with its natural beauty and peace. The sea is clear and calm, and the view of the open sea and the setting sun creates a scene that will be remembered for a long time. An interesting fact worth mentioning is that for the purposes of filming the film, new paths and approaches were temporarily built in the bay, and after filming was completed, everything was returned to its original state. Today, Barjoška is once again secluded and untouched, a place where nature and the sea meet in their simplest, most beautiful form.

Kamenice Beach

Kamenice Beach is one of the most famous and special beaches in Komiža, not only because of its beauty, but also because of its unique volcanic origin. It is located at the very exit from the town, and was formed on a part of the coast shaped by ancient eruptions that created the islets of Jabuka and Brusnik. It is precisely because of these greenish volcanic rocks, which are found nowhere else on the Adriatic, that Kamenice is geologically and visually extremely interesting. The name of the beach comes from the stone vessels "kamenica" in which drinking water was once collected from a spring that still flows among the rocks today. In the past, Komiža women came here to fetch water or wash clothes, and today the beach is a favorite bathing spot and gathering place. Kamenice is a pebble, sheltered beach about a hundred meters long. In the morning it is in the shade, and in the afternoon it is illuminated by the sun until sunset, when it offers one of the most beautiful views of the sea and the horizon. Above the beach there is a pine forest that provides pleasant shade, so it is also suitable for families with children. In addition to its natural beauty, the beach offers various facilities: showers, toilets, fast food, the possibility of renting deck chairs and kayaks, and a beach bar that turns into a club at night. This is why Kamenice is particularly attractive to the younger population in search of fun by the sea. The beach can be reached on foot, approximately 10–15 minutes walk from the center of Komiža. The path leads along the coast, with a beautiful view of the bay, and nearby there is a parking lot at the former "Neptun" factory. Kamenice is the right place where natural uniqueness, history and summer energy come together.
